In the series entitled "Social Fabric", the artist combines carpet fragments to create new hybrid objects. None of the textile fragments are historical, although their patterns and colours would suggest. The globalised trade of our postcolonial world is dealt with in "Social Fabric" through ornamental harmony. High-quality craftsmanship, factory productions, silk and synthetics appear side by side and have equal status.
