Art Basel | Film | Short Film program | ‘Black and Blue’

The colors of this program’s title refer to the blue uniforms of American police officers and the black bodies who are the victims of violence. These short films are artists’ reactions to racially-motivated violence and thus represent a unique voice within current debates about racism. The program concludes with a documentation of Robin Rhode’s contemporary take on Arnold Schönberg’s expressionist Erwartung (Expectation), which he restaged on New York’s Time Square.
