Conversations brings together today&rsquo;s most inspiring cultural figures. Experience live debates and learn from thought leaders as they exchange on the key topics shaping the world of art and culture.
This year, the program will include a day of talks guest-curated by Venus Lau, currently Director of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (Museum MACAN) in Jakarta, for a day-long series of discussion.

Encounters sector will be invigorated by a Curatorial Group of four Asia-based curators. Led and advised by Mami Kataoka, Director of the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, alongside Isabella Tam, Curator of Visual Art at M+, Alia Swastika, a curator, researcher, and writer based in Jakarta; Hirokazu Tokuyama, Senior Curator of the Mori Art Museum.

Ellen Pau is a pioneering media artist and curator who shaped the development of video and new media art in Hong Kong. She co-founded Videotage in 1986, a groundbreaking non-profit platform for media art in Asia, and established the Microwave International New Media Arts Festival in 1997. Her early video works, such as Song of the Goddess (1992), addressed identity and gender. Her installation, Recycling Cinema&nbsp;(2001), was featured in the Hong Kong Pavilion at the 49th Venice Biennale, earning her international acclaim. A long-time advocate for independent and experimental film/video, as well as Art and Technology, she was a jury member of the Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards (IFVA). She served on the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (2013&ndash;2018) and was a member of the M+ Acquisition Committee, contributing to the shaping of institutional policy and collections. Her work is held in major collections, including Centre Pompidou and M+. In 2023, Asia Art Archive launched the Ellen Pau Archive, cementing her legacy in media art.
