The Art Basel Shop in Basel
VIU
Designed by Zurich-based Swiss eyewear brand VIU for the Art Basel Shop, an exclusive collection of six limited edition sunglasses reflects the Art Basel community’s belief that seeing is a conscious act within contemporary creativity.
FREITAG
The FREITAG for Art Basel F262-AB JULIEN Tote Bag and F218-AB Charm explore the intersection of global art movement and circular design. Crafted from discarded truck tarps, each piece bears the unique marks of its previous life. The design references shipping iconography in hi-vis pink or black – colors associated with art handling – and is silkscreen-printed by hand in Zurich. Reflecting FREITAG’s commitment to durable, functional, and circular design since 1993, the edition is paired with a monogram Charm, combining collectability with a distinctive expression of upcycling and craftsmanship.
AB by Artist Collection by Guest artist Katharina Sieverding
The AB by Artist Collection features four selected motifs from Katharina Sieverding’s oeuvre, translated into a special range of objects and editions produced exclusively for the Art Basel Shop in Basel.
One of the defining figures of contemporary art, Sieverding has been internationally recognized since the 1970s as a pioneer of conceptual photography. Best known for her monumental photographic self-portraits, she has expanded the medium into a critical arena for questions of identity, transformation, power, and media representation. Her work is distinguished by a radical visual language, a distinctly political stance, and an enduring engagement with the politics of representation and the performative force of images.
Bringing together conceptual rigor and collectible design, the collection translates Sieverding’s unmistakable visual language into a curated series of objects. Highlights include a limited-edition BOSS blazer referencing both her iconic personal style and artistic practice, alongside apparel, stationery, and accessories. The collectible Basel Poster Tote also returns, featuring a motif drawn from one of Sieverding’s iconic artworks.
Featured Collaborations
Iconic Moments presents Jean-Jacques Duclaux (Eko33)’s Specular Cortex, a new NFT series. Byredo contributes its signature scent collection, while Lito Editions returns to Basel with a print by Billie Zangewa depicting her son, titled A Day in the Life of a Gourmand.
Alongside these presentations, the shop brings together a curated selection of artist-led and design-driven works, including Marc Jacobs’ artist-designed accessories, an assortment of 0 10 sector artist objets, and the latest Louis Vuitton publications, drawn from a network of leading contemporary voices. Also featured is a PSG jersey designed by Spanish artist Edgar Plans to commemorate Paris Saint-Germain’s 2026 UEFA Champions League victory.
The program continues with Basel-based concept store SAALHOF 1123, extending this dialogue through a suite of collaborations with artists including Cassidy Toner, Lyla Marsol, Bruno Zhu, and Tobias Kaspar, among others.
Atelier Van Lieshout studio founded by sculptor, painter and visionary Joep van Lieshout brings its iconic, brightly coloured stackable Spider Chairs to Basel, making them available for purchase on-site. RAAWII presents a series of ceramic works by Danish artist Michael Kvium, while sculptural pieces by Rose Eken are presented by V1 Gallery. Finally, Gallery Delaive unveils the exclusive release of a rare 2008 print by Ayako Rokkaku, offered for sale for the first time.
Further drops, activations, and launches will unfold on-site throughout the week.
Across all contributions, the 2026 Art Basel Shop in Basel forms an ecosystem of contemporary practice in which artists, artisans, and ideas converge through a shared attention to process, materiality, transformation, and expression.
Warehouse Artefacts
The limited-edition Warhouse Artefacts t-shirt will be available at the Art Basel Shop and at Warehouse Artefacts, an immersive experience by Thomas Bangalter, Julian Charrière and Rampa, presented by Art.Klub at Art Basel. Set on a deconstructed dancefloor, it features an affirmation of hope struggling to be heard and a pulse that can still bring people together, relaying transmissions from both political history and underground dance culture. Reflecting on how meaning and community are produced during moments of crisis, Warehouse Artefacts is produced by Nordstern Basel in cooperation with Art Basel and Fondation Beyeler.
