Galerie EIGEN + ART, founded in 1983 in the former GDR, was in its initial years an illegal meeting place, where early exhibitions with later well-known artists such as Carsten Nicolai, Neo Rauch and Olaf Nicolai were shown.
Today it is still the only internationally active gallery from former East Germany.
Galerie EIGEN + ART is a gallery for contemporary art with locations in Berlin and Leipzig and currently represents more than 37 international artists from different generations.
