In the following years, the gallery’s program expanded, adding the groundbreaking artists Pae White and Simon Starling in 2001, followed by the gallery’s first solo exhibitions by Isa Genzken and Pawel Althamer in 2003. Since 2011, neugerriemschneider has represented the American filmmaker and artist James Benning as well as Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, showing his first solo exhibition at the gallery that same year. On the occasion of abc in 2012, Mike Nelson held an exhibition project in a temporary space and has been represented by neugerriemschneider since. The gallery has also established a close collaboration with the Noa Eshkol Foundation for Movement Notation in Holon, Israel in 2012, showing Eshkol’s first solo exhibition in Germany in early 2013. For Gallery Weekend 2015, the gallery held its first solo exhibition by the Brazilian artist Renata Lucas, which was followed by the first solo show by Mexican artist Mario García Torres at neugerriemschneider in September 2015. The first solo exhibition at the gallery by Swedish artist Andreas Eriksson will open this fall.
