Gallery SIDE 2 opened in 1997, to introduce the ideas and the works of international contemporary artists such as Rirkrit Tiravanija, Udomsak Krisanamis, Elke Krystufek, Karen Kilimnik who have not shown in Tokyo. In the past decade, the gallery started to work with local artists in their 30's-40's, currently representing 6 Japanese artists.
