Beck-Eggeling

For 30 years Beck & Eggeling has contributed diversely to cultural life in Germany and beyond with a programme of high-quality works of Impressionism, German Expressionism, Heinz Mack-ZERO as well as contemporary art, and has established itself as one of the leading galleries in the international art market. 

The gallery regularly presents its art works on an international platform, exhibiting at leading art fairs around the globe with a sophisticated and ambitious programme. Around six gallery shows are realized during the year, enriched with beautiful designed catalogues containing art historical texts by renowned art historical scholars, published by the gallery's in-house publishing house 'Beck & Eggeling Kunstverlag', which edits more than 150 different publications. 

Driven by curiosity and the love of art, Ute Eggeling and Michael Beck also realize major international projects beyond their three gallery spaces in Düsseldorf, most notable the travelling presentation of Heinz Mack's monumental sculptural installation 'The Sky over Nine Columns', which was shown at landmark spots in Venice, Istanbul, Valencia and St. Moritz so far.

The gallery represents the ZERO-era works of Heinz Mack exclusively and has set a particular focus on exploring the the artistic environment of ZERO's core group Mack, Piene and Uecker, by highlighting artists from Düsseldorf, Germany and abroad that became part of the widespread network that ZERO created. Located in Düsseldorf, the epicentre of ZERO, Beck & Eggeling is deeply rooted in the Rhineland and the neighbouring Ruhr region, where the gallery has established a solid and high-potential base of clients and collectors. From these private collections, the gallery is able to acquire market-fresh works by ZERO artists and their contemporaries, acquired at first-hand in the 1960s.
