Rules for Visitor

By purchasing a ticket to Art Basel Hong Kong and/or attending Art Basel Hong Kong, each visitor agrees to the following Visitor Rules.

All visitors entering the Art Basel Hong Kong exhibition area will be subject to a security screening and bag inspection. Visitors must comply with requests and instructions from the onsite security staff.

Security Inspection

Other than water bottles/flasks, no outside food and drink may be brought inside Art Basel Hong Kong.
Food and drink are available for purchase at onsite outlets at Art Basel Hong Kong. Refill stations for water bottles/flasks are also available at Art Basel Hong Kong.
Food and drink can only be consumed in designated areas and are not permitted in the exhibition areas.

Food and Drink 

Mobility aids for people with disabilities (e.g. wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, canes, etc.) and personal medical equipment are permitted at Art Basel Hong Kong.

Mobility Aids and Medical Equipment

The distribution of flyers or any other marketing materials at Art Basel Hong Kong requires prior written approval from Art Basel.

Marketing Material Distribution

Pets and other animals, other than certified service animals, are not permitted at Art Basel Hong Kong.

Animals

Smoking or vaping at Art Basel Hong Kong is strictly prohibited. Please use designated outdoor areas only.

Smoking 

Please be aware that there may be queues to enter Art Basel Hong Kong and that security staff may need to suspend access to certain areas if required to regulate the number of visitors.
A wide range of artworks is on display at Art Basel Hong Kong. Please note that certain artworks may explore sensitive or challenging subject matter (including adult content). Viewer discretion is advised.

Exhibition Areas and Artworks

Groups of eight or more people will need to be pre-registered through the <a href="https://form.asana.com/?k=nC5ws9ARAzNf_94twnc8JQ&amp;d=555523431250044" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Group Visit Registration Form</a> and, in addition to complying with these Visitor Rules, will also need to comply with the <a href="https://www.artbasel.com/hong-kong/articles/group-visit-rules-and-regulations">Group Visit Rules</a>.&nbsp;
Due to the fragility of certain artworks and space limitations, certain gallery booths will not be available for group visits.

Group Visits 

Tickets to Art Basel Hong Kong may only be purchased from Art Basel authorised outlets and may not be offered for re-sale.
Unless otherwise determined by Art Basel (in its sole discretion), Art Basel Hong Kong tickets are non-refundable, including if Art Basel Hong Kong is cancelled or postponed.

Tickets

Only handbags, briefcases or similar items smaller than 23cm x 15cm x 18cm (9" x 6" x 7") will be permitted in Art Basel Hong Kong. Only one bag per person is allowed.
Backpacks, suitcases and trolleys may not be brought inside Art Basel Hong Kong.
Visitors may store bags, free of charge, at the coat checks located on the Level 1 Concourse (near Entrance 1E) and at the Expo Drive Entrance. Coat check storage space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served, basis. Items are left in the coat checks at the owner&rsquo;s risk and Art Basel will not be liable for any lost, damaged or stolen items.

Bag Policy

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
Children under the age of 3 will be admitted free of charge, when accompanied by an adult holding a ticket.
Each adult may only bring in one child to Art Basel Hong Kong.
Baby strollers are permitted at Art Basel Hong Kong.
Please ensure that any children under your supervision take care in the exhibition areas, follow all instructions from our security staff and respect all artworks on display at Art Basel Hong Kong.
You are reminded that certain artworks exhibited at Art Basel Hong Kong may not be suitable for children and agree that you will be responsible for children under your supervision while at Art Basel Hong Kong.

Children

Artworks being exhibited at Art Basel Hong Kong are valuable and, in many cases, fragile. Please ensure that you take care in the exhibition areas, follow all instructions from our security staff and respect all artworks on display at Art Basel Hong Kong. Visitors will be liable for any damage they may cause to artwork or other property at Art Basel Hong Kong.
While Art Basel will take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and security of visitors to Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Basel will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury which visitors may suffer at Art Basel Hong Kong. Visitors will be responsible for their own personal property and safety while at Art Basel Hong Kong.

Liability

Personal or non-professional photography is permitted at Art Basel Hong, provided it is conducted without disruption of other visitors, and with the safety of the artworks in mind. The use of drones is strictly prohibited.
Cameras smaller than 16 cm x 12 cm x 8 cm (6" x 5" x 3") with a single lens (no more than 80mm in focal length) are permitted at Art Basel Hong Kong. Larger cameras, tripods, lighting equipment and selfie sticks are not permitted.
Professional photography or filming requires written approval from Art Basel.
Please be aware that press and promotional photography and filming will be taking place at Art Basel Hong Kong.
By attending Art Basel Hong Kong, you consent to any use of your image in photography or filming which may be taking place at Art Basel Hong Kong and agree that such photography or filming may be used for marketing, promotional or other commercial purposes.

Cameras and Photography

The following items are not allowed in Art Basel Hong Kong:
<ul>
<li>Large umbrellas and any other items that might cause damage to artworks or inconvenience to other visitors.</li>
<li>Weapons, knives/sharp objects, fireworks, hazardous substances and other unsafe items.</li>
<li>Items which could be used to create inappropriate noise or disruption (including musical instruments, laser pointers, flags, loudspeakers and whistles).</li>
<li>Large cameras, selfie sticks and tripods.</li>
<li>Drones.</li>
<li>Art materials (including paints, markers, spray paint and ink pens).</li>
<li>Recreational wheeled devices (including rollerblades, skateboards, bicycles and scooters).</li>
<li>Food and drink.</li>
<li>Items which are not permitted under Hong Kong law. If you attempt to bring a prohibited item into Art Basel Hong Kong, the security staff may refuse entry or require storage/removal of that item. Visitors may not enter or exit Art Basel Hong Kong in possession of artworks.</li>

Prohibited Items

The organiser of Art Basel Hong Kong, MCH Group Asia Limited (referred to in these Visitor Rules as &ldquo;Art Basel&rdquo;), reserves the right to refuse admission to, or to remove any visitor from, Art Basel Hong Kong, including as a result of an actual or threatened breach of these Visitor Rules, any safety concerns, any risk of disruption to Art Basel Hong Kong, and any risk of loss or damage to other visitors, galleries or artworks.
If a visitor is removed from or is denied access to Art Basel Hong Kong, any decision to refund the visitor&rsquo;s ticket will be made in Art Basel&rsquo;s sole discretion.
Art Basel reserves the right to change these Visitor Rules or introduce additional rules in its sole discretion and without giving prior notice. Subject to applicable law, the interpretation of these Visitor Rules will be made by Art Basel in its sole discretion, and any disputes between Art Basel and a visitor will be finally resolved by Art Basel, acting reasonably.
In addition to these Visitor Rules, each visitor agrees to comply with all rules and requirements of the venues where Art Basel Hong Kong and any associated events are being held and with all directions of staff and other authorized personnel at those venues.
