<p><span style="font-size: 16px;"><em style="background-color: initial;">Mr. Cuddles Under the Eave<br /></em>2021<br />600 x 600 x 500 cm<br />Pachiras, straps</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 16px;"></span></p><p>Trevor Yeung embraces subtle and intuitive connections through the use of plants as pretexts for human processes and relationships<em>.</em> <em>Mr. Cuddles Under the Eave</em> consists of 13 hanging <em>pachira aquatica</em> plants, commonly known as money trees. Caught in a moment of suspension, the money trees allude to our communal experience of lockdown during a profound global health crisis, where we all became still, stuck in a moment, or more literally in our individual spaces. This intertwinement is personified by the twisted forms of the money trees, known for their strength and auspiciousness. The work suggests an interdependency between people in times of isolation and precarity, embodying a collective anxiety and powerlessness, but also symbolising solidarity and resilience. </p><p>Trevor Yeung uses plants, aquarium systems, and installations as metaphors for the human behaviour and social connections. Stemming from his careful study of nature, Yeung forms his own ecosystems that simulate his personal observations and experiences of the world.</p><p><span style="font-size: 16px;">《屋簷下的擁抱先生們》<br />2021<br />600 x 600 x 500 厘米<br />發財樹、建築帶</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 16px;"></span></p><p>楊沛鏗以植物來擁抱人類進程，以及彼此關係間微妙又直觀的聯繫。《屋簷下的擁抱先生們》由13棵懸掛的發財樹組成。彷如凝固在半空的片刻，頭頂的發財樹喚起了我們在全球疫情中被封城的群體經歷；被困於靜止的時刻之中，或者更準確的是，被困於我們的個人空間。以強壯堅實和吉祥意味見稱的發財樹在作品中相互交織的狀態象徵了生命間的彼此糾纏。成簇的植物甚至看起來像聚集了一群人。這件作品提出在被隔離和惴惴不安之中人與人的互相依賴，展現出一種集體的緊張和無力感，也象徵了團結和韌力。</p><p>楊沛鏗以植物、水族系統和裝置作為人類行為和社會聯繫的隱喻。從他對自然的仔細研究，藝術家形成了自己一套的生態系統，模擬出他對世界的個人觀察和體驗。</p>
