How do artists from regions that are often overlooked by the art market build recognition for their work, both at home and abroad? What are the trials and tribulations from the perspectives of both an artist who has left her/his country of origin and an artist who has stayed? What is the significance for an artist of pursuing art education and exhibition opportunities away from their homeland, and what are the ramifications for the artist as well as the art communities from which they hail? These are just some of the questions explored in this video from our Conversations series.
