How a London collector turned her love for Latin American art into global patronage

<div><p>A year spent in Mexico City introduced Catherine Petitgas to such stalwarts as Francis Alÿs and Gabriel Orozco. Since then, the former banker has been a dedicated champion of Latin&nbsp;American contemporary art. A true connoisseur – and a published art historian – Petitgas' commitment to art isn't limited to collecting. For years, the philanthropist has been a key supporter of major institutions, including Tate, for which she chairs the International Council, the Serpentine Galleries, and Gasworks.
