The intimate and the vast: a conversation with Cecilia Vicuña and Teresita Fernández
Ahead of their major exhibitions in Miami, the two artists talk indigenous sensibilities and cosmic perspectives
Agustina Ferreyra opened her first gallery in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2013. Recently relocated to Mexico City, the gallerist has become a staunch supporter of emerging Latin American artists, staging ambitious shows in the intimate gallery space she has carved out of her home in the San Rafael neighbourhood. ‘The greatest thing is intimacy,’ she says, ‘and the ability to have truly engaged conversations.’ In this new episode of Art Basel’s video series ‘Meet the Gallerists’, she revisits her journey and discusses the benefits of her hybrid gallery model.
