Art Basel has today announced Filipa Ramos as the new curator of Art Basel’s Film sector in Basel

Filipa Ramos will curate Film for the first time in 2020, taking over from Maxa Zoller, who has curated the Art Basel in Basel Film sector since 2015.

Filipa Ramos is a writer and editor based in London, where she is Editor-in-Chief of art agenda. She is also a founding curator of Vdrome, an online programme of film screenings by visual artists and filmmakers. Interested in the relationships between contemporary art and cinema, Ramos’ research often focuses on how moving images address environmental and ecological topics.

Ramos also co-curates the symposia and research series 'The Shape of a Circle in the Mind of a Fish' for the Serpentine Galleries, London. She is currently preparing 'Animalisk', a group exhibition on becoming other at that will travel to the Bildmuseet Umeå, Sweden this summer and BALTIC, Gateshead in the autumn.
