Kennedy Yanko, 2026

Born in 1988 in St. Louis, lives and works in Miami.

As part of its contemporary art programme within its permanent collections, the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine welcomes Kennedy Yanko. Her works echo both masterpieces of French monumental sculpture and their usually invisible armatures, assemblages and internal frameworks. These structures resonate in the American artist’s sculptures, made from scrap metal and “skins” of paint. Displayed at the entrances of religious buildings, turned into architectural settings, the works reveal the hidden structures and forces that, poised between order and chaos, support and shape them. Front and reverse, surface and structure, become one.

Open from October 16, 2026 to January 3, 2027, 11am to 7pm (closed on Tuesdays).

Students from the École du Louvre are available every day from October 21 to 25, 2pm to 5:30pm, to provide visitors with information.
