Art Basel’s podcast series Intersections returns for a second season

  • June 28: Kim Nam-joon (RM), leader of K-pop band BTS, about his current involvement with art and his approach to collecting 
  • June 28: special episode on NFTs with Olive Allen (artist), Christiana Ine-Kimba Boyle (Director of Online Sales at Pace Gallery); and Melissa Gilmour (Global NFT Director at Rosie Labs), on their vision about the field; the role women play in the NFT sphere and how diversity could be increased 
  • July 12: artist and songwriter Moses Sumney, on the way creative people straddle disciplines and challenge the separations between artistic fields 
  • Later in the summer, architect Jacques Herzog on his most recent projects and investigate what makes a great space to show art 
  • JW Anderson on the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, his collection, and the many steps he has taken to integrate visual artists into his work.

Committed to enhancing its year-round cultural programming, Art Basel launches the second season of its podcast Intersections. The bi-weekly show will bring together world-class creatives and thought-leaders across disciplines, including art, fashion, design, music, and more. 

Intersections: The Art Basel Podcast is presented by UBS and hosted by Marc Spiegler, Global Director of Art Basel. Listeners will be able to download each episode free of charge and access behind-the-scenes stories from celebrated creatives as well as candid conversations on the state of arts today. 

Intersections: The Art Basel Podcast is one of the latest additions to Art Basel’s editorial platform Stories, whose ambition is to engage audiences throughout the year providing interviews with artists and cultural figures, articles by leading authors, original video, and in-depth art market analysis. 

The Season 2 series will kick off on Tuesday, June 28 with South Korean boy band BTS’s leader, Kim Nam-joon (RM). The pop star will discuss his relationship with art and his passion for collecting. The episode will be accompanied by a special NFT-focused episode with Olive Allen (artist), Christiana Ine-Kimba Boyle (Director of Online Sales at Pace Gallery), and Melissa Gilmour (Global NFT Director of Rosie Labs). 

On occasion, the bi-weekly scheduled program will be interrupted by special releases centered around major art world topics; from NFTs and the latest advancement in the digital space, to The Art Basel and UBS Global Art Market Report, expanding on this year’s finding and the latest updates on the art market economy.
