Art Basel Paris 2025
Friday, October 24th, 1-6:30mm, Petit Palais
As part of Art Basel’s Conversation program, acclaimed editor and cultural curator Edward Enninful OBE, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of the media and entertainment company EE72, will host a series of talks exploring the creative and cultural impact of the 1990s. These discussions on 24 October, will serve as a public prelude to Enninful’s upcoming exhibition, ‘The 90s’, opening at Tate Britain in October 2026.
Each panel will feature an in-person discussion between Enninful and a key figure from the decade’s art and cultural landscape, including artists Sonia Boyce DBE RA, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Mark Leckey, and photographer Juergen Teller. Through intimate dialogue, Enninful will examine how the 1990s became a turning point for the merging of fashion, art and photography. An era defined by fearless experimentation and the dismantling of traditional boundaries between creative disciplines.
Offering a real-time glimpse into the ideas, perspective and cultural forces that will inform the Tate exhibition, ‘The 90s’ will explore the visual language of a decade marked by subculture, rebellion, diversity, and innovation—from underground magazines to the runways, galleries, and clubs that redefined both British and global culture.
Edward Enninful OBE said: ‘These conversations are about more than nostalgia—they’re about tracing the roots of how we see and express ourselves today. The 1990s was a moment of change, and its energy is still very much alive. This project is about capturing that spirit and understanding its lasting impact.’
