A citywide&nbsp;exhibition of artworks will be the initiative's cornerstone

With Kunsttage Basel, local institutions aim to revitalize Basel’s artworld

Basel’s museums, galleries, and fairs are joining forces for Kunsttage Basel, an initiative featuring exhibitions, performances, and activations in and around the city. More than&nbsp;40&nbsp;organizations will be taking part in the endeavor, which will run from September 17–20, 2020.One of Kunsttage Basel’s main pillars will be an outdoor, public exhibition, titled&nbsp;The Possible is&nbsp;Monstrous. Works in the Public Sphere&nbsp;and which will take&nbsp;over the squares and streets of Basel. Jointly curated by Elena Filipovic (Kunsthalle Basel), Ines Goldbach (Kunsthaus Baselland), Daniel Kurjaković (Kunstmuseum Basel), and Samuel Leuenberger (SALTS / Art Basel Parcours), it will include commissioned and existing works by local and international artists.While details are being finalized, artists will include Switzerland’s representative at the next Venice Biennale&nbsp;Latifa Echakhch, as well as Mexican artist Teresa Margolles and Lithuanian artist Augustas Serapinas.
