Location Casa Valhalla, Punta Mita, Mexico

High above the Pacific coastline of Punta Mita, Mexico Casa Valhalla unfolds as a dialogue between architecture, landscape, and contemporary art. Designed by Tatiana Bilbao, it is the only private residence by the celebrated architect available for guest stays – a cascade of concrete planes, lush vegetation, and open terraces embedded into the cliffside.

Created in collaboration with Airbnb for Airbnb Luxe, this film invites us inside a home where art is not collected – it is lived with. Throughout the house, works by artists including Gonzalo Lebrija, Alicja Kwade, Gabriel Rico, Sarah Crowner, Jorge Méndez Blake, and Pedro Reyes exist in harmony with the architecture. Sculptures anchor walkways, ceramics punctuate living spaces, and installations frame the horizon. The boundaries between interior and exterior, artwork and environment, dissolve – extending into lush gardens and open-air terraces.

In the film, Mexican artist Renata Petersen – whose work is present throughout the home - reflects on what it means to exist alongside art. What does it mean to wake up to art each day, to encounter it as part of everyday life? Here, art is not an object on display but part of the atmosphere: encountered by the pool at sunset, along a stairwell, or within the surrounding greenery.

Casa Valhalla offers more than a stay – it offers immersion. Through Airbnb Luxe, guests can inhabit a space where architecture, art, and landscape converge, and experience firsthand what it means to live inside a contemporary collection.
