On December 4, 2025, the Frank Gehry–designed New World Center will host the first announcement of the Art Basel Awards’ Gold Awardees, marking the culmination of a year-long process that began in June in Basel, Switzerland.

During that early chapter, the inaugural Art Basel Awards Summit convened the Art Basel Awards medallists for a day of conversations about the forces reshaping the cultural field. Artist and poet Cecilia Vicuña, the design duo Formafantasma, and Joel Wachs, the longtime arts advocate and president of the Andy Warhol Foundation, were among the participants.
