Your essential guide to Art Basel Miami Beach 2023

Find out everything you need to know about the fair’s upcoming edition

The 2023 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach is around the corner. Brimming with exceptional art and events, the show opens to the public on Friday, December 8, and runs through Sunday, December 10.

The 2023 edition of the fair boasts a brand-new layout, which will help you navigate the exceptional presentations of the 277 participating galleries. Highlights include large-scale sculptures by Hew Locke, originally made for the façade of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art; new paintings by Cherokee artist Kay WalkingStick; never-before-seen works by Argentinian-Italian Surrealist Leonor Fini; as well as group and solo presentations by 25 galleries participating in the fair for the first time, including exhibitors from Iceland, the Philippines, Egypt, and Poland.

Art Basel is divided into exhibition sectors, each with its own focus. Do not miss Meridians, which is dedicated to monumental artworks and includes pieces by Ja’Tovia Gary, Eric N. Mack, and Alfredo Ramos Martínez, and make sure to visit Positions and Nova, which feature brand-new work by emerging and mid-career artists such as Cristina Camacho, Kye Christensen-Knowles, and Aria Dean
