Art Basel in Europe

Our 2015 show, one of the most successful in Art Basel’s history, brought the international artworld together, with more than 280 of the world's leading galleries showing the work of over 4,000 artists. A full program of artworld talks took place each day. Further afield, exhibitions and events were offered by the renowned cultural institutions of Basel and the entire region, creating an exciting art week for our visitors.

Past impressions

Art Basel

The Unlimited sector, Art Basel’s platform for exhibiting projects that transcend the traditional art-show stand, presented 74 projects by renowned international artists including Kenneth Anger, Kader Attia, Julius von Bismarck, John Gerrard, Opavivará, Gary Simmons, David Shrigley, Sturtevant, Wu Tsang and Hector Zamora.

Do We Dream Under the Same Sky

During this year's show, Art Basel presented a large-scale installation on Messeplatz by conceptual artist Rirkrit Tiravanija, German architects Nikolaus Hirsch and Michel Müller, and Finnish chef Antto Melasniemi.

Do We Dream Under the Same Sky engaged visitors through the activities on offer, such as drinking herbal tea plucked fresh from an on-site garden, or preparing and eating food. Compensation was determined by serving, donating, or even participating in the cooking and cleaning up.
