Lotty Rosenfeld Huelga Sindicato. Good Year / Union Strike. Good Year, 1983 2 vintage photographs, signature and stamp 40 x 46,5 cm. Lotty Rosenfeld is one of the artists that best represents politically charged public art in Latin America in the 1970s and whose evolution has marked a large part of the way we know and evaluate these kinds of practices, with a two-fold purpose. On one hand, the statement of an idea transformed into action within a politically charged space; on the other, the photographic and videographic register that records what has happened: the what and the how. The sensation of confinement in her work contrasts with the need for open space in the public political place, which is interrelated with art’s pretension to question the field of political decisions.
