Oil on linen
Paul Winstanley Fuse 1, 2011 Oil on linen 27 5/8 x 31 1/2 inches 70.2 x 80 cm British born photorealist painter, Paul Winstanley is known for his beautiful depictions of eerie anonymous contemporary spaces and natural objects. He challenges the viewer to contemplate the exploration of the modernity as a cultural phenomenon and the transformative meaning that inhabits a subject matter when the image finds a new form of media. As a contemporary of Chuck Close, Richard Eastes and Gerhard Richter, Winstanley’s works are in the public collections of the British Council, The European Parliament, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and the Tate Gallery in London.
