Zai Kuning RIAU, 2003 Digital video, 16:9, colour, sound 29’45” Zai Kuning’s journeys throughout the Riau archipelago inspired him to document the life of the Orang Laut ("sea gypsies") in the short film "RIAU". In 2005, the film was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the Busan International Film Festival and at "The 3rd Fukuoka Asian Art Triennial". The work is collected by the Singapore Art Museum and the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum.
