Anurendra Jegadeva Rudi, What Did You Do in the War?, 2012 Oil on small-sized Boss shopping-bag in acrylic box                                  24 x 38 cm Anurendra Jegadeva is a Malaysia artist who is interested in issues of difference and multiculturalism within our supposedly pluralistic world   With his new Yesterday in a Padded Room.... installation, Anurendra combines his love for painting and portraiture with the philosophical preoccupations of the historical as well as socio-political realities of the day.   Drawing inspiration from ancient narratives of South East Asia, Anurendra uses popular icons, cultural anecdotes and often, the autobiographical to convey the meanings in his work.
