André Kertész Untitled, 1968 Gelatin silver print In May of 1964, Curator John Szarkowski included Kertész’s work in the Museum of Modern Art’s seminal exhibition The Photographer’s Eye. Later that year he benefitted from Szarkowski's interests and was awarded a one-man retrospective at the MoMA. He then went on to participate in the 1967 Concerned Photographer exhibition at the Riverside Museum, New York. The inertia from continued exhibitions, publications, and the blossoming photography market of the 1970s continued to propel his career and gain him a wider audience and recognition.
