John M Armleder Alchemilla vulgaris, 2006 Oil, enamel and glitter on canvas 261 x 140,5 cm John M Armleder is one of the most influential present-day Swiss conceptual artists. Influenced by the Fluxus movement, Armleder became particularly well known for his furniture sculptures. At Art Basel we will present one of his famous ‘Pour Paintings’. These processual paintings are characterized by a free gestural style in which paint and lacquer are experimentally mixed on the canvas.
