Sun Xun Endopsychic Fire, 2015 Ink and color on Photographic Paper / Silver dust pigment 150 x 250 cm 59 x 98 inches Sun Xun got his inspiration from his experience in Museum of Natural History during his stay in New York recently. He considered about the relation between civilization and men’s apprehension toward nature, and to him, any inclination of civilization would end up in diverse culture system. This series of work has its origin directly from ancient Chinese painting’s tradition and it develops a new painting language based on artist’s perception of time, which can be seen as a footnote to the inner spirit of traditional culture, and that’s what Sun Xun’s recent compositions concentrate on.
