Camille Henrot’s Contrology and Dropping the Ball are part of a series of large bronzes first shown in her exhibition ‘Monday’ at Fondazione Memmo in Rome. The sculptures are suspended between the figurative and abstract, allegorical characters embodying the emotional and intellectual states particular to the first day of the week; a day tainted with melancholy, but also the day on which we renew our faith in the miraculous.
