Movement as Monument addresses notions of political and cultural traditions, temporality and orchestration. Its saturation of the moving image is a violent, fragmented experience to endure, but it asks viewers to reconsider images presented to them in ways that recast their disparate nature as ultimately interconnected. Ackermann's video references Paul Virilio and his poignant essay on the “information bomb,” which explores how the speed of information alters society.
