The experimental film Ella was shot at one frame per second, with a camera held upside-down and facing the tracks from the back of a train. The Croatian artist Tomislav Gotovac made a number of avant-garde structural films which positioned him as one of the most important experimental filmmakers in the European historical context. Gotovac’s artistic expression was based on a creative and existential persistence in identifying art and life. His experimental films use continuous repetition of images to reveal personal stories.
