Mixed Reviews (American Sign Language) is a 30-minute silent projection of an actor interpreting a text describing music, using ASL. The text is a compilation of excerpts from printed reviews of music and performances in which the authors employ written language to describe their auditory experiences. Collaging the passages together, Marclay's work offers a silent interpretation of an aural text.
