Mixed Behaviour is set in Anri Sala's hometown of Tirana, Albania. The film presents a DJ mixing tracks on a rooftop on New Year's Eve. Exploding fireworks illuminate the darkness. Their explosions overlap with the sounds of rain and gunfire – a local holiday tradition and a reference to the Albanian civil war period. Throughout the film, the video’s soundtrack plays in manipulated synchrony with the fireworks, with the DJ guiding the composition.
