This painting contains a silkscreened image of Marcantonio Raimondi’s engraving "The Dream of Raphael" (1507 - 1508), a central motif in R. H. Quaytman’s "I Modi, Chapter 22", first shown at the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011, and re-installed at MoCA Los Angeles on the occasion of the artist’s "Morning, Chapter 30" exhibition. The picture is thought to depict a scene from the mythological life of Hecuba, who, when pregnant with Paris, dreamed that she would give birth to a torch that would burn down the city of Troy.
