Marx uses the idea of the ‘hybrid view’ (familiar to users of Google Earth), to combine sets of information into what he titles Language Objects. In these works the object and the indexical lines that would link the object to nomenclature – the ribcage and its anatomical annotations – become fused. The ‘object in language’- the object that has ‘disappeared’ into information, attains a sculptural presence as a hybrid object.
