In Egyptian mythology the cycle of day and night is described as result of a struggle between two gods. The issues of victory and defeat, 'war' in another word, is presented as a type of communication in Sanctus. Just like in the other works by Yalcintas, in this painting, the children are also 'posing'. On one hand this is a kind of game, on the other hand it is a necessary cycle, because of its mechanism that ties the civilization and everything to itself.
