TV Buddha (1992) presents a classic theme for Paik, a bronze statue of Buddha is recorded by a closed circuit camera and played back on a TV monitor. The Buddha meditating upon its digital self points to the reflexivity of the television viewing experience—a wry comment that links watching TV with Zen meditation as means to achieve a higher level of consciousness.
