Nina Beier’s practice often decontextualises universal cultural symbols to investigate how
modes of representation affect contemporary experience. For these pieces, the artist has cut,
styled and dyed human hair wigs before flattening and framing them in pale pink frames,
turning objects into images. In effect “the human” becomes deflated or/and empty.
