At this year’s Art Basel, Galerie Thomas Schulte presents a new series of four medium-sized metal sculptures by Richard Deacon. In these four sculptures Deacon for the first time uses the same shape examining its impact on space by using a different metal with differently coloured surface for each sculpture, aluminium, brass, bronze, and patinated steel. With his four X- sculptures Deacon continues, and even goes one step further exploring the interaction between inner and outer space dependent on form, material, texture, size, and colour in sculpture.
