Urs Fischers edition for the New Museum, Chicken Rotation, is a four part, multimedia, wall relief, related to his recent series of cartoon like assemblages, which play with ideas of misalignment, subversion, and temporality. Fischers work is often humorous and shocking; sometimes created with perishable materials, his art tilts toward the notion of impermanence and upending the status quo. His large-scale installations, sculptures and wall works incorporate everyday objects and foodstuffs, which draw our attention to the passing of time and mortality with an entirely unique and macabre sensibility. "I dont care about big or small. Im interested in collisions of things, and how objects relate to each other." © Urs Fischer 2016
