The title of this work comes from a famous portrait of Marcel Duchamp taken by Man Ray, in which the shape of a star has been shaved into the back of the former’s head. In the video, Morimura first shaves a star into his head in his Osaka studio. The setting then shifts to Kyoto, where he wanders through the streets, all the while spinning his unique tale of the “Cometman.”
