During the run of the exhibition Op Losse Schroeven in the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, bed sheets were hung out all the windows on the front façade of the museum, and pillows laid on the window sills. In the conspicious display of a common Dutch phenomenon on the outside of a museum, art is both brought into a public space and public space is incorporated into the realm of art. This strategy is typical for the nature of works that were exhibited at that time. The flapping sheets concretize the encounter between the processes that are being played out in the space and the perceptible consequences of them in everyday phenomena. The nature and presentation of the installation can easily be anecdotally interpreted as airing out stuffy museum galleries. As a supplier of ideas, and as a matter of principle Boezem refused any cooperation with their realization. The production and organization of the installation was left up to the art management. The photographic documentation which remains is quite summary. The photo collage of the design gives the best impression of the original intention.
