A Tribute to Richard Gray This exhibition is a tribute to the legacy of the gallery’s founder, Richard Gray, who passed away earlier this year. Founding his gallery in 1963, and exhibiting at Art Basel since 1992, Richard Gray played a vital role in advising some of the most notable private collectors for over half a century. The works presented highlight the revered art dealer and collector’s personal passion for art. Together with his wife, Mary Gray, the two amassed an esteemed collection of drawings, paintings, and objects from antiquity to the present, with an emphasis on original works on paper. The gallery takes this occasion to reflect on Gray’s legacy and more publicly share his contribution to art dealing and connoisseurship. Included in this exhibition of postwar masterworks on paper from the Grays’ collection are rare pieces by Willem de Kooning, Richard Diebenkorn, Jean Dubuffet, Sam Francis, Franz Kline, Pablo Picasso, and Jackson Pollock.
