photographic work in color, 2 parts Back in the early 1970s Jürgen Klauke (*1943 in Cochem) was one of the first artists to use photography as a means of artistic expression to raise questions like gender and identity. His inventions in form and content are nowadays taken for granted, and have significantly influenced art over the last 40 years. He is a pioneer of multimedia and interdisciplinary artistic exploration, whose work fascinates and irritates in equal measure, oscillating between the poles of attraction and repulsion. Umarmung is a classical two-parts work from Klauke’s very first series of self-perfomance photographs, playing with gender roles in color. The shown diptych is the last available one of the edition inclusive the APs.
