Verena Loewensberg (28 May 1912 – 27 April 1986) Swiss painter Verena Loewensberg trained under August Herbin at the Académie Moderne in Paris. In 1937, she co-founded “Allianz” in Zurich, the association of modern Swiss artists, which also included representatives of Surrealism, late Cubism and Constructivism. Loewensberg is con¬sid¬ered one of the lead¬ing rep¬re¬sen¬ta¬tives of Con¬crete Art in Switzerland ("Zürcher Konkreten"), alongside Max Bill, Camille Graeser and Richard Paul Lohse.
