12.6 x 83.5 x 31.5 Size (in)Based on Porsager's residency at CERN - the European Organization for High Energy Physics - the work "HORNY VACUUM" links to neutrinos and neutrino horns. The Neutrino is the mysterious elementary particle also called "The Ghost Particle", which physicist Wolfgang Pauli devised the existence of in 1930. The mass of the neutrinos are 100.000 times smaller than the ones of electrons and the body is constantly penetrated by these small particles coming from outer space. A neutrino horn is used for particle testing and research at the CERN institution. In short, the neutrino horn is used to focus a neutrin flow into one ray. In this way, it becomes possible to study these intangible particles that constantly fire towards the earth.
Porsager's 3D animation depicts the interior of a so-called neutrino horn - seen from the neutrino's point of view - accompanied by a pulsating sound of a 'gong'. The film should be experienced with 3D anaglyph glasses. The limited human sensory device is further expanded by an extra glass area on the 3D glasses - one for the third eye.
Porsager seeks a promiscuous play between the spiritual and quantum physics and the work "HORNY VACUUM" is filled with energies, intentions, perversions, mantras and stories. Porsager filters the neutrino particle through tantric practice and Kundalini technology - a meditative and energizing form of yoga. The esoteric and the scientific field all together create a diffraction from where new waves are created.
