Nøtel is a multi-media installation conceived as a marketing suite for a luxury hotel of the future. Lawrence Lek has created a video-game-style realm – accessed through VR headsets and game controllers – which revolves around the Nøtel Corporation. This imaginary conglomerate embodies the concept of fully-automated hotels, with AI technology catering to every whim. Set to a score by electronic musician Kode9, Nøtel is site-specific, adapted to the location in which it is presented. For Unlimited, Lek has expanded the virtual environment to incorporate a purpose-built gallery, designed to showcase the CEO’s collection of new-media art. ‘Nøtel Corporation is proud to present our new marketing suite for our flagship range of zerø-star™ hotels that embody the concept of fully-automated luxury. Designed by world-leading architects to accommodate today’s global nomads, you can rest assured that your anonymity and security is of the utmost importance. Why not indulge in the personalized, intelligent sound system at the piano bar, bathe in the glow of our eco-friendly, thermo-nuclear spa, or browse Nøtel’s digital art collection in our carefully curated lobby?’ – Nøtel CEO Statement
