In Méndez Blake's work, literature becomes a tool that articulates situations, places and objects where each piece is full of theoretical meanings related to one another. The visual results from a dialogue with literature, and create complex works that provide a specific form that occurs only in the realm of imagination and desire. Carta de Kafka a Milena en blanco, (2019) belongs to a new series of paintings based on famous letters. This particular letter is from Franz Kafka to his love interest Milena Jesenska, transformed into a visual poem. It is the last letter that Kafka wrote before he died.
