Simon Evans™ Simon Evans, London, 1972 | Sarah Lannan, Phoenix, 1984 Simon Evans™ have developed a unique vocabulary of visual and written freedom, created with scraps from daily life, mostly fragments of paper and images. Themes such as religion, mindfulness, and consumerism — recurrent in the artists works— are always presented with a witty sense of humor. Their elaborate compositions flirt with abstract patterns, but can also unfold into fictional narratives, maps, and taxonomies. In Made up Letters (2018), for instance, the text verges on literature weaving dozens of tiny letters that outline imaginary dialogues with various recipients. Simon Evans™ is the artistic collaboration between Simon Evans and Sarah Lannan. Both artists live and work in New York. Among their exhibitions, the following stand out: Not Not Knocking On Heaven’s Door, Palais de Tokyo (Paris, 2016); Illumination & Fire Under Snow, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Copenhagen, 2016); Only Words Eaten By Experience, MOCA Cleveland (Cleveland, 2013).
